Hi everyone,

Just curious if may people are leveraging Instagram to connect with other investors and to document their renovations, buying process, etc? We started a few weeks ago and have connected with a few REIN members but not many...We would love to connect with more!

There seems to be a huge community of buy and holders, renovators, flippers, etc in the USA but not much online in Canada. We've found it awesome to be able to watch other people's Instastories and stay motivated to get our hands dirty...You can find us by searching "tylerandtodd" we'd love to connect with you!

It’s a waste of time if you target serious investors.

Replace social media with asocial media. It’s ok to raise awareness but to attract investors you need older folks with money usually not on Instagram. Instagram is like Facebook without words.

What works well are Facebook or Google ads with a well designed website and a person with impeccable telephone sales skills. And attending the odd ACRE event or events where potential investors gather. Selling happens in person or on the phone.

Instagram is to share pictures. Not to attract investors.

I'm not saying that I intend to utilize Instagram to gain investors. However, it is a great tool to be able to see what others are doing with their renovations and to motivate one another to continue to build their portfolios! Similar to this forum you find out what others are doing but with the added benefit of photos and live videos!

Just a time suck, IMHO.

Guys to follow are the ones making money, not those looking for fame.

When you need to visualize a plan or concept is a great tool, as you get an idea of what other people are doing. If you are a renovator, decorator or stagging business then its good and cheap tool versus trying to have a gallery on your own site to showcase your work. If you are trying to raise funds for your projects then its a nice way to "complement" your efforts. Instagram is like an electronic business card that can add value to your business. Having said this, make sure your work is top of the line as you will be compare with others. (I seen some ugly projects)

These tools are just tools, you make the business so invest your time/money in you first. If you have extra money then get your sites going to complement your branding.
