    Hi,
I often see bathrooms where there are plastic panels tub surround and there is either a gap between panels and wall or/and wall is soft behind it. I did not remove tub surround just it feels soft behind it meaning you can push the tub surround in a bit.
Is this most likely a sign of rot/soft wall behind the tub surround plastic panels that need to be replaced or can it actually be just mostly a gap between the tub surround panels and the wall behind it as a result of the way it was installed?

Would you remove tub surround panels and check wall every time!?

    Thank You,
    Nir
