Metro Moncton home sales up this year

Metro Moncton's real estate market has remained stable through this wet and rainy summer and the latest numbers show a seven per cent increase in year-to-date sales over 2010.

Sales are moving well in Franklyn Crossing, just off Millennium Boulevard and next to Centennial Park.

"It's been very good considering what's going on with the economy. People are still looking at real estate.

"But we've been fortunate as the Moncton market has been very stable and steady," said Shirley Powell, president of Greater Moncton REALTORS (R) du Grand Moncton.

According to the association, average sales to the end of July were 794, up from 239 at the end of July in 2010. The average sales price of homes in Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe rose from $168,329 in 2010 to $173,241 in 2011.
