Canada Sues U.S. Steel to keep Stelco takeover Promises

As of May, the workforce at U.S. Steel`s Canadian operations had shrunk to only 23 per cent of the number of workers it promised to employ when it took over Stelco, according to documents filed with the Federal Court of Canada and obtained by The Canadian Press.

They say the Pittsburgh-based giant repeatedly broke production promises, to a point where steel from Canadian operations, as of May, was "a small fraction" of what it promised to make annually.
