Spain's economy minister sees 'significant' job growth creation in 2014





MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's Economy Minister said on Wednesday that job creation in 2014 would be "significant" as a tentative economic recovery kicks in, but a poll showed most Spaniards do not expect any clear improvement until 2015.








"2014 will see the net creation of jobs, higher even than we predicted in September in the budget, and the jobless rate will fall," Luis de Guindos told Cadena Ser national radio, declining to put a number on expected jobs created.

Temporary jobs lift Spanish gloom





One of Europe's hardest hit economies is finally catching a break on jobs: The number of Spanish workers registered as unemployed fell by 107,600 last month, the best result for December on record.





On a seasonally-adjusted basis, the decline was 57,645, marking a fifth consecutive decrease, according to a government report Friday.

200 million unemployed globally





According to a report published by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the number of people unemployed globally rose by 5 million in 2013 reaching to 202 million people, or 6% of the world`s working-age population.





Through the annual report that was published ahead of the World Economic Forum starting on Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland, the ILO mainly criticized governments for the lack of job creation policies.

Spain unemployment rate ends up stuck at 26% in Q4 2013





MADRID - Spain's sky-high unemployment rate remained stuck at 26 per cent in the fourth quarter as the economy expanded but not enough to trigger job growth, according to a pair of government reports issued Thursday.





The jobless rate for the October-December period rose to 26.03 per cent from 25.98 per cent in the previous quarter and the number of unemployed stood at a rounded 5.9 million people, the National Statistics Agency said.

German labour market starts year in good shape





Unemployment in Germany remains in surprisingly good shape at the start of 2014 as the outlook for Europe's top economy continues to improve, official data showed on Thursday.





On the face of it, the German jobless total increased by 263,000 to 3.136 million and the jobless rate -- which measures the proportion of people out of work against the working population as a whole -- jumped to 7.3 percent in January from 6.7 percent in December, the Federal Labour Office calculated.

another German export, besides BMWs, Mercedes, Bosch equipment or Liebherr kitchens: unemployment to its southern neighbors . The Euro was a mistake, in my opinion, and that of a sizable European minority.
