Unauthorized suite lock

Have a tenant we suspect may have changed the front door lock in a condo
if so I have no key . are we in our rights to have our locksmith and myself
re key the door Tenant will be receiving a court order for eviction

It’s also against the condo bylaws.

Work with strata what to do here. You too can’t just drill as the door is common property, not yours !!

Yes, the condo corporation will want it changed back to match the other units.

As for changing the locks in any property, you are allowed to do that as long as you arrange to provide a key to the tenant. You may not change the locks to block access until after an eviction is enforced. And - of course - you will need to provide the tenant a notice of entry in order to access the suite to change the locks.
