Hi,

I recently opened an account on Twitter that has property management and real estate investment tips on it. Our goal is to get to 1000 tips. www.twitter.com/investagain

Does anyone else use Twitter? Do you find it useful personally and/or for business?

Regards,

Hi Scott,

A lot of people are using twitter for growing their business and acquiring business leads. I use it for a personal social media application but I do have some tips if you want to generate followers using twitter that I wrote down last week after listening to a webinar:

1) Stand out – relationships come first, business second. DON`T TAKE, GIVE FIRST.
2) System for getting followers – follow the people who have the largest followings
3) Build familiarity and trust – educate your followers
4) Have an offer, tangible product to give your followers

Make a list of top 5 gurus in your industry, follow THEIR first 5 pages of followers, do this every day to space things out and not come across as spamming.

Start a conversation first before following and once someone interacts with you, follow them.

Follow people at 2:30-4pm PST and 8pm-12pm, and weekends

Make posts that educate your followers, quotes, lessons, etc. People will value this more than competitors. Be real, talk about things that are normal. Interact with your followers. Ask them questions, talk back and forth to build relationships.

1,000 investment tips is a cool idea, it seems like your well on your way to having a harem of followers.

Cheers,

Dineen

Don`t just tweet about your own stuff, and push out blog posts. Use Twitter Search to find conversations and help people out. Find interesting discussions and participate.

Dineen, those are great tips! Thank you.

I have been on Twitter a little while now and I am impressed with how quick & easy it is to connect with other people and businesses all over the globe.

The book "Twitter Power" by Joel Comm shows you how to use the site and its huge potential.

You can find me on Twitter @Carla_Johnson.

Cheers!

Enormous potential for both. From a strict real estate side, it`s probably the latter, but it can be very beneficial for other things too. Grab an account, poke around some. Follow some people, and see what it`s about.

Twitter is pretty interesting so far. I`ve had it for a few months now.

Haven`t met anyone who has actually converted their followers into customers but I think it`s a great way to just connect with people in a different way. It`s interesting to see what people want to share on a public type of domain and you can increase your online presence. You might see some great value in what people share with you and vice versa.

Feel free to follow me!

I`ve had clients at work successfully convert twitter followers into whitepaper and podcasts downloaders. It`s another good touchpoint, and in the context of a lead nurturing/management system can be very useful.

Hubspot puts on some good webinars aobut using Twitter for business.

Hey,

Cool Post. Good feedback too.

I have been using twitter for a little while now and had some successful conversions to signing up for free product on our website. Still waiting for that first investor off twitter though...

Here are some useful tools I have come across, but be careful due to the limits and red flags that twitter has such as - you need more than 2000 followers to follow over 2000 people and your ratio of people you follow compared to those following you should not even be greater than 1.075, but as mentioned previous this tool is more so about building the relationships and not spamming or people will just unfollow.

Here they are (there are LOTS more, but here is just a few):

-
Set up dynamic auto tweets, auto follow users by keywords (this is the best one I have found):
https://tweetspinner.com/login.cgi?u=/home.cgi
-
Useful follow friday tool, and some other neat functions like `tag` and status notifications:
http://thetwittertagproject.com/index.php
-
To create mini-short links (very useful)
http://kl.am/
-
To attract more targeted follows:
http://www.twollo.com/
-
To attract more targeted follows:
http://twittertrain.net/adds.php
-
See how you rate compared to other twits:

Hope that helps!
