Brett, what great advice! Thanks for pointing out to think of it as if it were my money and what questions I`d ask. Something so simple...but it wouldn`t have occurred to me! I`m so not comfortable asking people for money.
I plan to invite a number of people out for drinks...they will know...
Hi,
I have found a property that is in need of updating but doing the math it would be a great investment. I have the skill and the trades people to make the updates but don`t have the $ to invest.
What is my best approach to find investors?

Hi Miguel, you should consult with a lawyer but I can give you what I`ve learned.

Paul, that is amazing. Yes, it is a great success story but it is also incredibly motivating as well!
I`d love to hear your story as to how and when you got started investing (I see you have the tagline - Young investor)!
Thanks for posting this story,

QUOTE (RobCadete @ Nov 9 2007, 04:53 PM) Well, after wandering the site and wondering what`s behind the members only curtain, I finally decided to become a member of REIN.
I am pretty excited to get started and was just wondering; how long does it normally take to get the "package"...
I know of several people who bought in to scams like this. This year every single one of them are being auditted. They will be out the money they invested, any charges/fees incurred for the audit, back taxes owing...back audits and likely future audits.
If it sounds too good it is!
Well, today I missed out on a property. I checked out a property (turn of the century rowhouse) which was a good price (mortgage and taxes would be covered with some extra $ for misellaneous by the rental income). I was waiting for my calls to be returned by my Mortgage Guru telling me I could...
Hi!
A friend of mine, who has rental properties in Toronto, stopped using the newspapers about 3 years ago. He now only uses Craigslist.org and Kijiji.com. He runs the free ads with great pictures and has an `open house` on one or two afternoons. He always gets them rented immediately and it...
You know what really impresses me with Don`s system and REIN? Realtors are members. For myself this is a large vote of confidence in REIN. When you watch those silly infomercials on t.v. late at night telling you how you can make millions in the blink of an eye, not one testimonial is from a...
Just going on common sense here and I could be wrong!
If there is a problem with the ability to heat the home/apartment it would be the Landlords responsibility regardless if it is electic, gas, boiler or fireplace.
If a fireplace is required for heating the Landlord would be responsible to...
I have a suggestion for something you might want to look into that doesn`t require a large membership to join like Direct Buy...which is somewhere around $5,000 in TO to join now. I`ve heard from a number of people that are not happy with Direct Buy but only a few who are happy. They don`t have...

I do plan to join REIN. At this point though, I have so much going on...work is crazy right now, that I don`t have time...
QUOTE (BMironov @ Sep 22 2007, 03:41 PM) If I may, I would recommend special Post-It that designed specifically for this task.
Thanks for the suggestion! I actually have some of those around the office somewhere...I just have to locate them.
