The properties I bought were either FISBO, or I was the investing partner and someone else did the work.)Frankly, I actually preferred being the investing partner, but it did not work out well for me. The properties were fine, but the partners, for one reason or another, were not. The big lesson I learned was, when being an investing partner, to analyse the "partner", more than the "property". A partner must be:-Experienced.-Honest-Committed long term to Real Estate Investing (not just trying it out).-Provide accurate and timely statements. (So I don't have to chase them for the info to do my taxes). Before you get excited, NO, I am NOT looking to be an investing partner again. I now reside in BC and look for my own properties. I am looking for JV investment partners myself and I use my experience of being on "the other side of the fence" to be the kind of partner, I wish I had found in 1997.I foolishly (before joining REIN), fell of the Real Estate wagon and sold all 7 properties between 2001 and 2003. oops.I am back in the game and currently have 2 single family investment properties in Grande Prairie and plan to start purchasing small multi-family units.Quick Turn (Ron LeGrand Style) in BC Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver.

Long Term, single family Holdings in Grande Prarie, Alberta and intend to add some in Dawson Creek, Fort Saint John area.

Future: Continue Quick Turn locally for cash flow & purchase Apartment Buildings in Peace River area for longer term cash flow & appreciation.0
