We just purchased a duplex in chilliwack that we are going to do a minor renovation to change it into a four plex.because we are from the lower mainland and driving out is at least 1.5 hr each way .we are trying to determine what we should do...a lot of people we know that renovated their house...

Don't really agree with buying the most expensive house one can afford. Buy a house you are going to live in first with maybe a basement or a side duplex. Have a tenant help you pay down your mortgage. Live and enjoy as stress free of a life as possible
