I just wanted to reply to a comment that Don alluded to last night about Scarborough. Everytime he mentions Scar. I hear a little cough!!!!!!!(Don already sees the value)

10 years ago I bought my 3 bedroom townhouse in east Scar. ( 1 km. away fro one of the so called bad pockets of Scar) Today, I could list it for around $400,000????

Not bad, for a scuzzy area.

Thanks!! Trudi Johnston

Just to add to Trudi`s comment on Scarborough:

My sister bought a 2 bedroom 1 bath 1.5 storey house in an average part of scarborough (warden & lawrence) 3 years ago for $260,000. Today there are comparables listed for $319,000 and are selling for list price. This is an average annual increase of about 7% appreciation. Plus this is a 1.5 storey house which tends to be a tougher sell on average.

Not bad in my opinion.

I should have proof read my comment better. I bought my townhouse for $190,000 in Scar. and 10 years later could sell it for around 400,000.

That sounds better.
