I have been interested in Solar Power for some time. Recently I discovered Ontario Power Authorities Fit and microFIT programs which provide a guaranteed $0.80 buyback rate for solar generated power for 20 years.
The next week I discovered this site:

Which I have been watching with great interested. The $23000 price tag for a 2.5KW system seems a little high to me but I am continuing to investigate just the same.
I am hoping someone out there can explain to me the income tax implications of this project. How long a period would I have to amortize the cost of the solar array over? Would I be able to use this like any other business and write of a portion of my household expense as i would be installing it on my personal residence roof.
Thoughts?
Anyone got any experience with this?
Thanks
Mike
