I am a new REIN member and totally new to real estate. I am working my way through the numerous binders sent to me with my membership (mail in membership for now, hopefully upgrade in a few months). How much money do you really need to get started in real estate, even with a joint venture? can anyone give me a ballpark figure? Cheers Ginny Greene

I think $50k is a round number. In Edmonton you can get a decent townhouse for under $200k ($40k downpayment, $1-2k closing costs, $3k reserve, $2k renos, $3k unknown buffer).
