BC Legislation on Tenants Boarding/Renting Rooms in Your House

Hi there,

I am renting out two rooms in my house and they share a bathroom and kitchen with me so do not fall under the RTA. Does anyone know the law/s that apply? Is there a guide on these laws that describes damage deposit, notice of entry for inspection, and other issues?

One issue is they leave the heat on all the time and my bill was huge. But heat is included so don't see what can be done.

So far, this is the best thermostat I’ve found for rentals when considering cost, function, ease of use. There are other options that are better in each of the above categories but this works for anyone who is reasonable.

Couldn’t you use one of those smart thermostats that can be controlled via mobile app? That way you have total control no matter where you are via smart phone.
