business from a rental house

Hi all.

I have a tenant who would like to have the lease in his wifes name so she
may use her business to expense some costs..

Is this legall? to operate a business from a rental house and expense rent and other costs?

It is the landlord`s decision as to whether he/she permits a tenant to operate a business out of there property. Assuming the city zoning allows the type of business in question to operate from private residences in the neighbourhood.
The business owner, accountant and government determine what is legal to claim as expenses and is not (should not be) the landlords concern.
