Getting bank/contractor concessions in return for publicity/signage

Hi,



we've started construction on a 20 unit high visibility repositioning project that is ocean front on one side and a busy main road on the other. It will be several months before we start putting units on the rental market. Our pre-leasing marketing plan largely consists of a BIG sign on the main road with great photos and a facebook page address.



What concessions/$$$ are typically squeezed out of the financing bank/broker and contractor in return for a prominent mention of them on the signage, or on a second sign next to the big one? This is definitely worth some bucks or a few points off the rate. What's usual for developments?

Nuttin, unless they offer it. Just say no, you don't want your sign getting confused with theirs.

It can't hurt to ask though...or at least mention your perceived value of putting a sign of theirs on the project.



I would put the sign up for free...especially the financing bank...Its called scratching each others back and you may want to do another project with them in the future.



Save the best spot for your sign though, as Brett mentioned.
