Looking for a way of giving back? You have probably heard about the Karen refugees from Burma who were driven from their homes in Burma/Mayanmar by their own government. 100 refugees from Burma arrived in Edmonton this week. This Saturday there is a fund raising brunch where Kim Phuc [the girl in the famous Vietnam photo of the young girl running down the street away from the napalm] will be speaking. Beside Kim, some of the Karen refugees will be there to tell their stories.
Tickets are only $30 and includes brunch. This Saturday [Nov 24] at 9:30 am at the Coast Terrace Inn South, Edmonton.
Wouldn`t it be great to use some of the wealth we have gained from our investment hmes to help these Karen refugees make a new home?
