Investment in Mexico

I have made conditional reservation on a luxury condo in Mexico (San Carlos, Sonora).
I seek advise from investors who have owned and/or sold property in Mexico, on:
1. what do they think about the growth prospect of San Carlos?
2. on sale of condo, how is capital gain taxed in Mexico? will there be a capital gains tax in Canada as well?

Hi Anzali,

I have a group of investors that are interested in condominiumizing old apartment style hotels in Mazatlan. However, we are unsure of the parameters of investing in Mexico (ie. lenders that will lend for investment there, laws and rules specific to that region, foreign ownership restrictions).

Any advice and/or connections you can offer to us that would be great.
