Alberta unemployment rate dips to 4.3%
CALGARY ` Alberta`s unemployment rate dipped to 4.3 per cent in September, down from 4.8 per cent the previous month, and is tied with Saskatchewan for the lowest level in the country, says Statistics Canada.
The federal agency reported Friday that employment in Alberta rose by 4,000 positions, or 0.2 per cent, from August while it grew by 3.7 per cent or 80,300 positions year-over-year, which was the highest growth rate in the country.
