· Calgary’s inflation rate 3.3 percent in July as compared to five percent in 2007
· Calgary unemployment rate lowest in Canada at 3.6 percent
· Calgary GDP expected to range from 2.8 to 3.3 percent for 2009
· Small business account for more than 90% of all business in Calgary. Calgary also has the highest number of small business per capita in Canada 40.3 business per 1000 people.
· New housing prices percentage change from July 2007 to July 2008 -0.3 percent
· Net immigration for 2006/07: Calgary was third in the nation behind Kelowna B.C and Edmonton, with 16.2 new people for every 1000. In 2005 – 2006 it was 21.5 which was highest in Canada
