Rent to own

Hi everybody!
I need some help if anyone could explain to me how "rent-to-own" option actually works. I`ve heard for term but I don`t know how it functions. I know somebody might be surprised at this basic terms that I don`t know, but for me as a novice investor and having it hard to sell "dog house" this could be my only exit option. Thanks everyone!
