Rental pricing charts available
Detailed charts showing recent rental prices in four Central Alberta communities are being promoted as a way to help landlords, tenants — and the dying.
Red Deer businessman William Ladic is donating 33 per cent from each rental chart he sells to Angels Anonymous, a charity that fulfils the wishes of terminally ill adults.
Ladic said he will give $10 from each sale until at least the end of 2008.
The charity will accept the donations, but as per its policy, doesn’t endorse any other organization or the methods in which these organizations collect dollars.
Ladic compiles a four-page monthly rental chart that averages rents over the last three months.
The charts are said to determine fair market rents in Red Deer, Blackfalds, Lacombe and Sylvan Lake.
Ladic said the data will also benefit mortgage brokers, property managers, city tax assessors, insurance agents and the like.
The charts are new to the Central Alberta market and come at a time when rents are rising due to Alberta’s buoyant economy.
“In the past, there was just no easy way for landlords and tenants alike to determine what fair rents were for half-duplex units, basement suites and other ‘non-apartment’ suites in Central Alberta,” Ladic said.
