Suggestion for REIN audio downloads

A couple of suggestions for REIN techs-

1) Adopt a consistent naming protocol. Begin with 'REIN' and then name the specific file with the same format every time. This will make it easy for members to download and listen to your excellent recordings.

2) Ditch the requirement in the Interview with an Expert Series series and the Success Secrets for the Real Estate Investor series for us to first download a pdf which, once opened, provides a path to the actual recording. Why the extra step?

3) Provide simple instructions on how and where to download REIN recordings so members can automatically and simply download and then listen to them on their iPods or other mp3 players. Perhaps build on what is in this thread http://myreinspace.com/public_forums/Technical_Support/64-10698-How_do_I_copy_audio_success_stories_to_my_ipod_from_a_Mac.html. Once members have synced iTunes with their iPod this would make the REIN recordings easy to find.

Thanks!

And I`ll add that it`s wonderful when I pop a CD into my computer to add it to iTunes and there`s already been track names added to CDDB and I don`t have to do any work naming them.

Excellent point Garth,

This would make me so happy. Every time I get the REIN CD`s i spend 30 min trying to rename all the tracks and CD`s and put them in order. Some of the CD`s are already title, some are titled as REIN, some as Real Estate Investment Network, some as Don R Campbell. Then the tracks will be name Track 01, Track 1 or 01 Track or maybe actually have the name of the track.

The worst CD`s are the Quickstart and JV Secrets programs, I still havent got them organized to play in order.

Ideally it would be great to have it similar to the following:

Artist: Real Estate Investment Network
Album: March 2009 BC Workshop
Genre: Books and Spoken
Name (Track Name): The same name as labeled on the CD

These small improvements would be so great.

Hi there,

I will pass the requested information onto our production team in terms of naming files for ease of use.

For the PDF downloads of the REIN Interview with an Expert Series, etc, there is also a small description under the file that says "Click here..." The Click Here is a live link and will open the Interview up immediately. The PDF is there because we need to have an actual "file" to upload.

Cheers,

Candace Martyn

Another idea from REIN member CLW (taken from another thread):

Also, another step that's worthwhile for audio recordings like this or the REIN meeting CD's is to convert them to audiobook format. Basically you use iTunes to re-encode them in AAC format and rename them to .M4B extension, then re-import to iTunes. The advantage is that for audiobooks, iTunes/iPod tracks your "bookmarks" and you can use the fast playback option which cuts the time it takes to listen to them.
