We are looking at the option of renting our 2nd home (1st home is still on the market to sell) on a monthly basis. We set the monthly cost well below current market values in the area ($600-$800 per month less than comparable homes) with the hope of finding another family/person is a similar situation (sold a home, looking for their next dream home) and only looking for short term rental. We`ve found a family who would be happy with the arrangement of renting our home on a monthly basis until
a. They find a long term rental property they like (good for kids and pets)
b. We sell our home and decide to move into the new home.
We expect this arrangement to last for 4-12 weeks.
We are both of the understanding that either of us could provide 3-4 weeks notice to end the agreement.
The other family just recently sold their nice home in the area and are waiting to have a custom home built and therefore require a rental until it is completed.
I`ve attempted to search the public forums here on REIN and the BC Rental Tenancy Act site with negative results. Does anyone know of a contract/form that would be appropriate?
Does anyone have any issues/suggestions regarding this agreeement?
We are simply wanting to cover some of the costs of the 2nd home until we sell.
