If you`re hiring someone to clear snow how do you determine the rate?

Do you have a form you use for such a contract, or other ongoing work?

Usually the maintenance company has their own contracts. Monthly rate for snow removal in Edmonton for a typical house with double garage/driveway is $150 - $175.

Just an aside - slips and falls are the major source of personal insurance claims, with ice and snow attributed as the most frequent causal factor. Either make sure the party clearing your snow has sufficient insurance or that you make your agent aware that you will be self insured on this risk - in writing.

Talk to your agent about adequate coverage and the issues around these options .
