Toronto is Ranked #1 for single family real estate investments by PWC

I think the government is not ignoring the issue. They want to intensify by encouraging condo buildings in or closer to GTA. For Multi Family, Toronto is ranked 20th. So I think highest appreciation for investors in Toronto is for single family homes as per PWC. As Canadian dollar going on...

    Off to a frustrating start!

-- Thanks. So how do I find these REIN investors in my neck of the woods? Send me an email with your contact details to [email protected]. In our next REIN meeting, I can introduce to a few others who helped me. Also I'll be glad to help with the little I know.

    Buying Old or New property?

The purchase price of an old building depends on how well it has been maintained. For a property to be easily rent-able, I prefer it to be in well-established communities with good walk-score. Off to a frustrating start!

My suggestion is to get connected with other investors in REIN. An investor in REIN cannot buy every single good opportunity he comes across. With proper networking, they may be willing identify good opportunity and pass it to you.

First property: investment or for my family?

With the little knowledge I have with real estate life cycles, I am sure all real estate markets (including Toronto and Vancouver) for all types of properties (including single family homes) will eventually have a correction. Currently I do not see enough economic indicators to forecast a...

Town house or detached home for investing?

As the asset value has doubled in your condo, I would re mortgage and get the capital out. Using this capital I would buy another investment property, ideally a detached house. In any type of investment there will be challenges. Facing the challenge and resolving it is part of the game. Pet...

    Property Analysis

Don't we need to add the cost of mortgage payment? Is the down payment is borrowed money or cash? I would consider the payment amount for these. If I still get a positive cash flow or if the area's potential growth justifies a short term negative cash flow, I would look closer.
