Dear REIN members,

My name is Bill Keay and I am a Realtor in Kitchener-Waterloo and I have been a REIN member since 2005. Chances are you have seen me at REIN meetings or recently at the Re/max Booth at a recent Quickstart in Toronto. Moreover, I have been an active member of WRAMA, Waterloo Region Apartment Management Association since 2005 as well. Now I am a volunteer Board member of WRAMA. Also, I am a volunteer board member of the Westvale Community Association in Waterloo. I like to give back to the community where I feel so grateful to be living in.

One of my first job interviews when I graduated from the University of Guelph's Bachelor of Commerce program was with a Realty. However, I felt that I was too young and inexperienced to trade property.

After I graduated I pursued Education and became a high school teacher in Waterloo at Waterloo Collegiate Institute. While I was on staff at WCI, I watched and learned from many of my colleagues who owned and operated student rental properties. Wilfred Laurier was just down the street so I was very intrigued about their businesses. One colleague was a member of REIN and invited me out to a REIN meeting and the rest was history. Within 6 months I owned 2 investment properties in Kitchener (one duplex and one condo apartment.) My wife and I lived in one part of the duplex and we fixed it up and rented it while I was still teaching. Within a year or so I purchased another property with a joint venture partner (another REIN member) and I earned the REIN bronze pin.

During this time I analyzed many properties in KW and I realized my true passion for Real Estate and Real Estate Investment. I have been serving clients with Re/max in KW since 2007 and although I may seem new to the business, I have a lot of energy and time to serve my clients. In fact, I have several testimonials from REIN members that I can provide to you upon request.

My goal is to make a difference to my clients, one property at a time. Since I come from a teaching background, I am a great listener and I am able to match up a client's real estate wants and needs with the best property.

In 2008, I received the Accredited Buyer's Representation (ABR) designation from the National Association of Realtors. The curriculum in this course covers information and ways to improve service for Real Estate Buyer's. Moreover, the course also has a major component about negotiation skills and tactics. Ask the Realtor that you are using now how they determine a price for your offer? Chances are they do not do a complete Comparable Market Analysis like I do with every offer that I put in on behalf of my clients. The CMA uses active and sold prices of similar properties to come up with a price.

Please feel free to email me to discuss investment properties in KW and to talk about my awesome REIN Buyer's Program. It is my goal to make sure that your real estate experience is the best possible. It is not about the transaction to me it is about creating a lasting relationship with guidance through the transaction and follow up afterwards to make sure everything is going well.

In 2010, I created a blog/video blog site at www.billkeay.com and I hope that you check my site out regularly for updated information about investing in Kitchener and Waterloo. My website for listings is located at www.billsellshomes.ca.
