My experience with young renters was not positive but I didn`t have a parent co-sign the agreement. I have not taken a young tenant since.

I am interested in learning how to invest in commercial real estate ( strip malls rather that apartment buildings). Does membership with REIN teach this aspect of investing? Or is REIN more focused on residential investments?

That does not sound accurate. The Canadian government has bailed out the Canadian auto industry.
