Depends how big the claim is. No lawyer will get involved in this and go to the hearing for you etc for less than 1000-2000. You might have some luck with a civil enforcement agency... try Consolodated. If it's just a security deposit and nothing else you're probably better off money wise...

You have to catch them in the act... either with cameras or when they do it. Ideally they pull up in a vehicle and you can get a shot of the license plate. You need to weigh the cost of extra dumps vs. the cost of trying to catch someone and decide which pain you prefer!

Our business is with BMO and they have been great. You can have up to 10 accounts linked on one debit card and can accessed online, each with a different prefix which makes ATM deposits much easier. My business is quite complicated from a banking perspective and they have not let me down.

Are you sure the CC interest rate is only 4%? I'd cash the GIC and put down 15k on the CC in December. There should be some interest returning on the GIC investment and this should go against the balance as well. I would take your mom's credit card, so as not to make the problem any...
