    Unemployment Drops in Fort Mcmurray

There is definitely some slow down here. Contractors are getting laid off, until the price of oil becomes more stable. I hear through the grapevine that the LOA has been cut out (Living out allowance). But, I also heard from a realtor the other day that alot of the condo projects are on hold...

    Investment Property Monthly or Bi-Weekly?

Currently I have my payments coming out bi-weekly, but since my rent money doesn`t enter my bank account until the end of my month, I find that I am dipping into my personal money to cover the payments. I am going to move mine to monthly, at the end of the month.

    Tax Shelters

I was always told that I could only use my RRSP money for first time home owners only. Is that not true? I would love to invest the majority of my RRSP`s in real estate. The Government Tax free account is a good solution, but what if you need a tax shelter for a certain year, because of your...

    Tax Shelters

Good Day All I`m sure that we are all in the same boat lately with our RRSP`s heading into the tank. Does anyone know of any other tax exempt alternatives out there that we could invest in besides RRSP`s? I really don`t like the fact that I have no control over the markets, thus no control...

It`s about time Canada grew up

QUOTE (GarthChapman @ Dec 1 2008, 01:05 AM) I think that most would agree that our Prime Minister`s move on the funding of political parties issue at this time was both opportunistic and ill-advised. But let`s also recognize that the governing party has a great advantage in this ill-advised...

QUOTE (Jack @ Nov 21 2008, 01:42 PM) -Energy producers are tentatively looking at boosting exploration in Alberta again after a government shift on royalties, but not by enough to rescue the province from a drilling slowdown in 2009, oil patch companies say.-there was also widespread confusion...

QUOTE (C2Ventures @ Nov 9 2008, 01:17 PM) Please provide more details. What area and rental type are you talking about? In many areas rents are going up, not down! What areas are going up? I have 2 condos in NE Edmonton and have decreased both to $1295 month versus $1350 to get people in there

    More difficult lending environment ?

QUOTE (Dan_Eisenhauer @ Sep 17 2008, 10:33 PM) Thomas is the third person in a week who I has advised those with an LOC to max out the LOC, and to bank the money just to ensure it is on hand when it is needed. I am wondering if it would be safe if I transfered my HELOC to my high (LOL)...

QUOTE (thomasbeyer2000 @ Sep 6 2008, 08:15 PM) Banks are getting MUCH MUCH more difficult to deal with over the next year or more .. as they took a huge hit on the bad US sub-prime mortgage debt .. so they are looking to improve their cash position .. and a LOC means: a % of this LOC must be...

QUOTE (JDRInvestments @ Sep 10 2008, 10:12 PM) Kim, I have asked for help on this approach as well from a few key members on the board. www.homeownersoon.com is a good source with a formula that you can use as a start to see if it works for you. I have successfully pulled together a RTO and if...
