condo with minimal prospects for appreciation

I'm looking at a condo unit in a building which generally sells for prices that are way below the market norms for the area and the city. The condo building itself is older, built in the 60s but well maintained, and the maintenance fees are average and in line with what you would expect to find...

Currently own 2x triplexes with more than 20% equity, they are on residential rates. Goal is to purchase a multi-family with little or no down, explored the option of going with jv partners but I`m not sure I would want to share control and decision making with someone else. Most JV partners...

Rental Property Renovations...handyman or a pro?

I would second JimWhiteLaw in saying that it would depend on the complexity of the job. In my experience, contractors have to be scheduled in and sometimes they may not have someone ready to get to your job for a couple of weeks (this is my experience in the GTA) and this may not be feasible...

    Book Keeping Software?

QUOTE (zoltanwise @ Nov 16 2009, 10:25 PM) Hi I`m currently closing on my first rental property! Reading through the Canadian Real estate books I found that it would be a good idea to be organized from the start. I feel that I should know where I`am and where I`m going in my business. What kind...

    Aging condominiums

Recently came across a condo townhouse unit at an aging condominium complex in north west Toronto. It was a 3 bedroom listed for $90,000, approximate 1300 sq foot with a finished basement, excellent condition, new carpets, new furnace etc. The problem was not with the unit but with the common...
