Hi Everyone,

One of the tenants in a triplex is helping the landlord maintain the property. He is helping fix/cover broken windows, might cover open sump pump soon, paint (his) balcony, put some drywall ceiling in basement, etc.

Nothing major but still GREAT support.

The work the tenant is doing is not part of the agreement.

What is the best way to compensated or show appreciation to someone like him for the work he is doing? Should he be compensated financially or is there another way?

THANKS,
Neil

Give a restaurant or store gift certificate.

Also be aware of any tenants doing work on your property and your insurance needs.

Check with your Insurer, and WCB, to make sure you are covered for any injuries that might occur and could come back to haunt you.
