Does anyone have experience purchasing RE outside North America? I am intrigued by RE in emerging markets, Brazil and Cambodia are good examples. Does REIN provide insights with such investments? Are any members involved in exotic JV`s now? Thanks in advance for your responses. See you at the Quickstart in TO!

A one REIN meeting, there was a presentation about investing in tropical markets, however REIN research targets Canada, specifically Alberta, BC and Ontario.

Hi,

Real estate analysis is the same all over the world. Fundamentals are fundamentals. If there is strong in-migration with increasing average incomes etc etc (12 questions from Goldmine ScoreCard) then property demand increases and values increase.

That being said, buying foreign properties (US or other) takes a unique talent and great contacts in the target country.
