-Bruce Power is looking at an alternative site for a proposed nuclear power plant in northwestern Alberta. The new site is located about 30 km north of the Town of Peace River. Bruce Power is still considering the original Lac Cardinal site about 30 km west of the town.

-it plans to study both areas before making a final decision early next year

Fantastic idea, I really hope they are able to get it done.I`m from that part of Alberta though and I can say that even up there where oil and gas exploration is so prevalent, NIMBY groups are going strong. A couple of years ago they effectively scuttled a small dam project for the Peace River (upstream of the town of Peace River) whic would have supplied power for the area. The last I heard it was undergoing a lengthy review process.
