Is anyone here investing in Chatham-Kent? I see CRE magazine has it on its list of 45 hot spots and it leaves me scratching my head.

I grew up in the area and maybe its a personal bias but other than a low price point to enter, I don`t see an upside in the short, medium or long term.

Anyone got any thoughts on the upside to re-frame my perspective?

Hi Mike,

I was looking at this too and other than the price point and the return I am not sure. There seems to be a fair bit of dependence on the auto industry ( looked at the Chatham website and employers) and after seeing what is happening in Windsor could Chatham also be on a downturn? There are afew other big employers liek the Etahol plant and some fodd processing but is there going to be any growth?

Anyone else care to comment?

Andrew

I lived and worked in Chatham 10 years ago at Siemens Automotive. My daughter was born in Chatham. I liked my time there, it was a nice community to live. Siemens has been sold and most of the production moved to Mexico. Navistar has received numerous government bailouts and if not closed is about to close. I don`t see much upside either. I am looking from a few years back and maybe something new is happening there but I don`t see it.
