Calgarians can now go online to find out how the city is spending some $6 billion on roads, bridges and buildings over the next five years.
The new City of Calgary website has an interactive map and provides details about the type of project, who is paying for it and how it`s progressing.
The website provides both accountability and information on how the city is spending infrastructure money, said Brad Stevens, the city`s general manager in charge of the project, on Monday.
"While it provides the transparency we are looking for, it is also a very detailed project tracker that allows anyone from me as a manager right down to the taxpayer to get the answer to [the questions] `Are we on time?` and `Are we on budget?`" he said.
About 120 projects are currently on the website, which will be updated roughly every two months.
