Do you know the difference between Co-ownership Vs Co-ops building.
I have been looking into some of these properties and on paper it looks good. I just don`t know why the prices are so low.
Has anyone purchase these types of apartment buildings. What should I be looking for. Should I stay away.
I understand with Condos, you purchase a unit in a building and gain a percentage interest in the common areas. You receive a deed to the unit you have purchased.
With Co-ops, you purchase shares of a private corporation. You do not receive a deed.
With Co-ownership, you can mortgage your interest. Also I read its a hybrid between co-op and condo.
Please advise.
Thanks,
