Hello, I`m just starting to look at Alberta & some MLS listings of FULL duplexes are priced the same as HALF duplex units! How can this be? Is it because they`re illegal, or 2nd unit`s below ground or in bad areas....?? how can a HALF duplex be as expensive as BI-LEVEL duplexes? I`ve seen this in Edmonton. thx

Take a very close look at the listing. Duplexes are either side by side or up/down legal duplexes. There are also duplexes with suites (ie. 4 total units). Some are legal and some not so you will have to check the zoning.
You can expect to pay around $300K (+/- $50K) for a 1/2 duplex in Edmonton and area.
