Hi, Every one, I will be investing in USA rental properties, and I am looking for hopefully Canadian based Accountant and tax / liabilty lawyer, that is familiar with Canadian corporations (companies) that have USA income properties.

I live in a small BC Town Invermere, and local legal/ accounts have no experience with this.

Any contacts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Rick

These folk are all based in Calgary. I am sure that you can find one of them who will best work for you and your goals. See if creating a U.S. corporation would be better so that what you do in the U.S. stays in the U.S.

Hi Rick,

It is a small world - we are building a house just outside Invermere, and we own a revenue property in the US (which is where I am writing from while enjoying some California sunshine).

I highly recommend that you read the book "The Canadian Snowbird in America", by Terry Ritchie. He is the 4th referral above. This book will give you the ins and outs of Canadians holding revenue properties in the USA. There is much more to it than meets the eye.

Also, at the February meetings REIN members were given some very important information on what to watch for when buying foreign properties. If you are thinking of joining REIN I recommend you do so before making you US purchases.

Hope that helps,

Thank You very much, will be calling them tomorrow.

Rick
