Definitely not real estate

Hi RE guys and gals!
Just need some quick info.
I`m fairly computer literate, put up my own website, learned HTML, etc.
Now the question I need help with.
How do I start a blog with WordPress.com.
Do I buy the software? Then intall it on my IP provider? What?
I`m confident the answer is brain-dead simple, but I can`t find it anywhere.

It looks to me like you just sign up for an account and then your blog is hosted on their site. I don`t use Wordpress, personally, but I imagine that there is a way to set it up so it hosts on your own server. Maybe someone else has actually done this.

A lot of sites nowadays are set up so you can`t really do anything until you have an account, so I`d make an account and go from there.

I know that with Blogger, you can give the FTP information for your server and your blog will be hosted on there. This is the software that I am more familiar with.
