I have never had a building managed by Esquire but I am a former tenant/on-site property manager and I would have to say NOT to deal with this company. They would never listen to me when it came to new tenants and I told them about one specific application about two young men wanting to rent a two bedroom and it was their first place and one of them even mentioned he liked to smoke pot. Having a small child and knowing of other tenants with small children I told Michael McNeil personally that these tenants were bad news and to NOT rent them the place as drugs have no place in any building. Of course Michael didn`t listen to me and rented them the suite and not soon after we had loud parties, in which I had to call the police several times, I had tenants constantly complaining about the smell of "pot" in the halls, and every month they paid their rent in cash, 5`s and 10;s. When enough was enough for me they were rude and belligerent and they tried getting me to move out by harassing me every month with something new! When my fridge broke they refused to fix it, they claimed nothing was wrong and so started the ongoing battle. I had a lawyer involved who was dealing with Michael McNeil personally and she said he was very rude and ignorant of many laws, we had an independent appliance technician come in and verify the fridge was useless and needed to be replaced but still Michael wouldn`t comply and even admitted to my lawyer that "Yes, he had known the whole time the fridge needed to be replaced." At this time my son was not even 12 months old and we needed a fridge and everyone we dealt with at that company was shameless. I contacted the owner of the building and informed him of what was going on and in fear of being sued himself he actually sold off the building, I kid you not this is the truth. I have many more horror stories but those are just two of the more extreme cases, this does not include getting unlicensed repair men coming in to fix problems such as electric issue, plumbing, etc. I actually still have documentation proving what I am saying is the truth and would be more than willing to share if needed. I would not recommend using this company ever!
