If no one wants it what the heck do I do with this thing? I hate spiders so no way is it coming with me and I don`t want to let it loose in the neighborhood with kids around...

Any ideas?

Hi Brett,

What a lovely surprise. I`m sure if there are no takers here a local pet shop will be glad to have it. You could also contact any local elementary school as they often have a few aquariums set up for the kids.

Tatantulas aren`t nearly as dangerous as public perception makes them out to be. I was in Arizona this spring and people there enjoy having them in their yards as they hunt the real pests. It`s a great educational opportunity for kids - I agree with getting it to a school.

As a guy whos not overly fond of the lil hairy critters... i have a suggestion. It involves a shoe and a little manual effort. The results are permanent! Hahahaha!

I would find out how much a pet shop sells them for and advertise it for sale on line..(Kijiji)

Oh come on Ryan...just a little spider! As Rodney mentioned, these guys really aren`t a big deal, most are harmless. I ran into lots of them behind my house in southern California, no biggy. Plus, I used to take a few with me for outreach programs so children could hold them as such (not the wild ones), along with a few of the big scorpions and millipedes...as I go off topic. Either way, pretty harmless and great for education.

I can see the Ad headline now "suite guranteed mosiquito free", "Free pet with one year lease", "All Goths Welcome!"

Good luck buddy!

Brett, face your fear. Adopt him yourself. You can do this.

Unless you are at the top of Everest and you can`t get down....
Or you wake up with spidey crawling on you

That reminds me of the time my wife Deb awoke with our daughter`s escaped hamster`s whiskers tickling her nose. Still makes me laugh (Deb is terrified of mice).

hahaha some great replies to this post.

In the end I was able to get the humane society to come through and get the little guy. My fear of spiders remains however
