Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any info about Hinton? My little bro is looking to buy something small over there, and he says there are mostly trailers avail. I`m concerned that a trailer wouldn`t yield in much of the way of a return since you don`t usually own the land... though the trailer will be practically new...

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hello Ami,
What type of property is your Brother looking to buy? I have invested in Hinton for a number of years and might be able to help.

Thanks Carl!
He is looking for just a little place - he`s 25 yrs old with great income, though little savings except whats in his RRSP... He had mentioned getting a trailer, but wasn`t too sure if he would be in a trailer park, or what - my thoughts were that a little house or townhouse or something would better as he would actually own the land. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Ami,

Hinton does have a couple of owner owned lots for trailers, one is East Hardisty in the valley and the other is on the hill beside the new IGA. Condo townhouses seem to be the perferred starter home in that area. I would stay away from Carriage Lane (on the hill) as their condo fees are up to $400 month which does not include any utilities, they had problems with their reserve fund.
