Hi All,

I received a quote $750+GST to inspect a small residential 4-plex (converted single family where 2 of the 4 units are in the basement) in a small city.
There are only 2 registered home inspectors (RHI) in that area and the quote is from one of them (can`t reach the other one).

Is $750 a reasonable price? I thought it should be around half that price. However, understanding the importance of a good inspection I`m willing to pay a little more.

Thanks & Regards,
Neil

I just paid $903 to inspect 4 units in Edmonton.

@ $750, I think you are getting a very good rate. It costs about $300 - $400 to inspect a single family home.

Thank you Dan for the quick and valuable response.

I will schedule an inspection with him then...

Regards,
Neil

Our home inspector charges $450-$500 for a single family home in Calgary,, that price seems good to me

That is the exact price I paid in the spring. I had the same company do three multi family properties in one day. They brought four inspectors. 750 + gst for each property and a round of coffees!

Thanks Glen and Gary for the input, I scheduled the inspection with him for next week for $750.
