Joint Venture Lawyer in Ottawa

Right now, I'm doing my first JV. I have an investor and we are buying our first property together. My problem is that I met with my lawyer before Christmas and I shown him the JV that I had from you guys and he showed me his and there is a lot of difference. I don't want to have a JV of 60 pages but I need to protect myself and the investor. I'm not sure if my lawyer is used to do this kind of work. He has shown me a sample of JV and he proposed that I used it. I was disappointed. Maybe I should have a new lawyer, a lawyer that works with investors all the time.
