Hi Everyone,
I got a quote from a reputable company to install a new roof. The work has been delayed by a couple weeks now and I noticed there is NO completion date mentioned on the quote. Was this a basic mistake of mine not to check they included a completion date on the quote?
(if YES, then how do you explain a reputable company not including a completion date without me asking?)
I provided them a cheque they did not deposit yet - they said they will only deposit when they start the work.
Should I look for another company, cancel the cheque asap and inform the roofing company I cancelled the cheque, and that I will provide a new cheque ONLY IF they provide a reasonable completion date within say 2 days, otherwise deal is cancelled? Can I legally do that?
I guess it`s only fair to expect that from them, not sure though. Is a roofer`s life so hectic that asking for a completion date is not acceptable?
Normally, I wouldn`t worry about the above so much. The only problem is that due to the condition of the roof, working on the roof before winter is critical(!)
THANKS,
Neil
