For those interested in transportation corridor developments in the VANCOUVER area .. here is the latest on the possible rail link to UBC along 10th / Broadway to Cambie/Canada Line and Commercial Drive Skytrain:

It is beyond me why the Broadway corridor with 12+ story highrises, intensive development as you go east or west from city hall, and a university with 40,000 students, 10,000+ employees/staff and already 15,000 residents that are planned to grow to 30,000+ residents in the next decade has no rail link in a city with 2,000,000+ people !!

Also: the volume on the Canada line has already exceeded the 10 year projection of rider ship after one year !! Go figure. Buses are slow, wobbly, frequently overcrowded and polluting.

Trains are twice as fast and clean.

It is such a no brainer !!

Why bail out GM with a billion $s if one could actually build s.th. for a similar amount that benefits 100,000+ folks on a daily basis ??
