REIN Workshops

Hi there
I was wondering if the folks at REIN considered scheduling some workshops/monthly meetings on the weekends once in a while. I live in Fort Mac and would love to attend a monthly REIN meeting once in a while, but find it very difficult to get to Edmonton when the meetings are held on a Tuesday or Wednesday for example.

It is a good thought, Leigh. But, remember that all those who make presentations at the REIN meetings have families, too. With the number of meetings held across the country, that would occupy every weekend all year long.

There is one weekend meeting per year held in each of the four centres... The ACRES weekend. Edmonton`s was held last month. Vancouver`s is next month. Come on down and thaw out for a few days.

A fairly high percentage of attendees at the monthly meetings actually travel a long distance in order to attend. You can be assured that a good sized contingent from Vancouver will be in either Edmonton or Calgary, possibly both, for next week`s meetings.

Oh yes, I would love to come to Vancouver...what a beautiful city! Yes, you have a good point, weekends are for families. Hmmm.....maybe a trip to Vancouver is exactly what I need!!!

I know they used to have day-long ones a few times a year in the different cities, or at the very least once a year on top of the (then-named) Quickstarts. They seem to have gotten away from that, although I don`t ever remember hearing a reason given as to why. I actually think it was part of their marketing a few years back, but I could be wrong about that. I do remember noticing that they were cutting them back, or phasing them out entirely.

There is some sort of 2 day special event scheduled for June 27th and 28th. Also, there is an all day power workshop scheduled for Aug 29th in Edmonton.
