I currently own a few properties in Edmonton and area and am seeking a PM company to assist with the management side of things. I find it difficult and very time consuming to do this on my own, hence the reason behind seeking someone to do this for me. A very good friend of mine currently rents a property through RPM, and is extremely impressed the past few months. Although there were many problems to begin with, he assures me that the past few months have been great. He did say that at first (back in June), it was difficult dealing with staff there, but that recently a new manager has come on board and made a huge difference. He said that at times it may take a few days to get back to him, but that he is always satisfied with the call back answers that he gets, and that this lady has been helpful and understanding to his every concern. He is so satisfied that although he is seeking a new place to live in June, he will endeavour to try and find one through this company, just to keep the manager he currently has. This all sounds great from a tenant perspective but I am wondering from an owner perspective what the thoughts are on this manager and company overall? I believe the lady`s name is Leah, and would be interested if anyone has any experience with her? I did speak with her last week and she seemed very versed on the process and knowledge of the rental process, but would like to hear what other owners opinions are. Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.

I did forget to mention that while speaking with her, I liked the way that she really stressed how she could not guarantee a time when a unit would be rented. She stressed that she believes in finding good tenants and that although it may be financially stressful on an owner to have a unit empty, for even a few months, this sometimes is better than just finding a "warm body", that could be problematic. She also explained that there are both negative and positives to having a property management company - I found this very honest as although she would like the business she outlined all of the potential problems that can occur both with having a manager and not having a manager. Of course the positives outweighed the negatives, but I found this very honest information. When I asked about other companies in the Edmonton area, she further directed me to this site to do my own research. Awaiting further information from members on this site. Thanks.
