Is there room to build spec houses in Saskatoon, then flip?

I know so many people who did in Edmonton and Calgary and were laughing all the way to the bank, I never had the courage to do so. Now a few of them are crapping themselves with the slow down.

Thanks,
Mike

Rumor is that Saskatchewan will catch up to Alberta within 10 years! Bigger oil sands, they have uranium and diamonds as well. I know of a number of people who have bought property there, or are moving back taking a pile of cash that Alberta`s boom has given them. Maybe that is why things have slowed down here now. I bought a house in SK in Oct of 06, probably worth at least double now! Also have a cabin at the lake in SK to flip this year... almost completed and will begin my own cabin project as well. I think SK has this year as a wee boom yet left to go before it plateaus. Calgary`s condo market probably will be pretty hot for 2008 as the single family homes are tougher to get into. My reno partner is looking to buy and flip in Saskatoon this year and is looking for more jvs to join him. Remember that real estate is subject to ups and downs but over the long haul, the trend is up! You just have to hop on board and ride the overall wave! My strategy has been to find areas that have been flat and are just starting to wake up and jump in. It works!
